Thyme

A flavour from the Mediterranean countryside selected and bottled by Carmencita to give an intense, natural taste to your sauces, pastas and meat dishes.

Its country aroma is very particular, and as soon as we encounter it we identify it with tradition cookery: from a good pizza to grilled recipes or rabbit stew.

Thyme suits slow cooking where it can release all its essence in stews, recipes for game, meatballs, rice with thyme, stewed potatoes and fatty dishes where it brings out the flavour and aids digestion. It combines well with stews, eggs, sausages, pickling brine and all types of sauces. If it is used in very fatty dishes, it aids digestion and enhances the flavour. Perfect with roast fowl.

Frequently used for dressings, adding aroma to soups, marinades, fillings, stews and roasted or fried vegetables; it keeps its flavour and aroma in slow-cooked dishes..

It is also perfect for giving a healthy Mediterranean touch to your pastas, pizzas, sauces, vegetable dishes like broccoli with thyme, fish, ravioli in green sauce, peas with ham and courgettes.

Use it to flavour fruit desserts: avocado, mango, thyme and lemon, and roasted apples with thyme.

Try it with courgettes: cut them lengthwise, brush on some oil, sprinkle with salt, thyme, a little paprika and add some pine nuts. Bake at 190ºC for 45 minutes.
